Welcome to the online home of me, some guy given the name John Cleveland Payne. In the grand scheme of life, I am just another guy with another blog. But to myself, and hopefully to all of you who actually read this, I am something a little more special. From a young age, I fell in love of the idea of ‘the message’ and medium in which you try to transmit.
Basically, everyone has a message to give to the world. Some are basic, some complex, some have the power to up lift and some are just out there to bring as many people down as possible. But everyone has a message, and most people have problems identifying their message. And the ones who get that far can seem to figure out how to get the world to listen.
Well, I have a message, and this is where I will get a chance to share it. Hopefully, you’ll get plenty of things to keep you motivated or inspired, provide knowledge and comfort, and just have a little fun. Apologies for the state of flux and state of seemingly confusing messages that you’ll get here for a while, as I am doing a lot of personal soul searching, and scrubbing of old ideas to take the best of the past to build a new beginning.
In 2007, I changed the name of blog from “The Mis-Adventures Of The Jazzy Cool One” to “Life In Fast Forward.” I began to tear down old blogs and newsletters and try to find places for them here. My goal is to take the focus off of me the person, and show the world the life I live and share with every human on the planet. I aspire to life at a very high standard, and instead of dealing with people who rather slow us down, I want to find ways to help people pick up there own pace. As you get to see an insight to the further adventures I hope to lead, hopefully you’ll enjoy the ride, and want to come along.

Betting Odds On The Spelling Bee
Tuesday, May 29, 2007
I like Darren Rovell, love CNBC, and am all about the human spectacle that is the Scripps National Spelling Bee, but just like in the 'amateur' world of college sports, it is normally frowned upon to put the target directly on the back on what are essentially mutants overly gifted children, I have to be a little leery when you start handicapping the spelling bee field.
Last night, under the guise of alter ego 'DJ Jay Cleveland from the Praise Radio Network,' I got to take the family backstage for a concert by Reuben Studdard. Say what you want about what the American Idol TV show has become, but they found a real star in Reuben. His performance was phenominal, and although it wasn't exactly matching the format of the gospel station that sponsored him, it was one on the most dynamic old school R&B/Hip-Hop performances I have seen in a while.
As one who prides himself on not blindly falling into the rush of hype, this afternoon I bought a copy of The 4-Hour Work Week (actually, I bought a copy of The 4-Hour Work Week Audio Book ) after readingseveralblogpostings on the book in the past week or so. About an hour into the 8-hour book I am impressed with the material and glad I took the suggestions from my online brain trust of bloggers...but I am a little worried about succumbing to the rush of jumping on the next great thing.
I think it might be a personal worry not really having a group or set of similar 'living-breathing' people to bounce ideas with, and have substituted online communities and blogs in its stead. I miss having people to talk about many of the new ideas and concepts coming out, as my level of 'perfectionism' 'professionalism' isn't matching with my current profession as well as I would hope. And part of that comes from working way to much and not getting enough out of it, hence, I bought the book.
My thanks Ian McKenzie over at Ian's Messy Desk for pointing this one out.

I'm a Analyzer
General Description: As an Analyzer, you tend to seek perfect outcomes in all of your plans and projects. In many situations, you “take things apart” in your mind and think about ways to do them better. You excel at this kind of mental examination, but you may tend to see family and friends as “projects,” rather than as people.
Typical Areas of Strength: Analyzers, like you, tend to be analytical, logical, direct, confident, and they like new challenges. They excel at seeing the larger vision, creating efficient methods and procedures, and listening carefully for the facts.
Typical Areas of Struggle: Due to your tendency to focus on tasks, you sometimes show a lack of sensitivity to the feelings of family members and friends. When you are sharply focused on a task, you may come across as being overly critical, judgmental, blunt, or impatient with others.
Your Preferred Activities: To maximize your talents, you look for situations in which you can offer logical solutions to complex challenges, and you evaluate and make the necessary changes to assure the desired outcome. Your Communication StyleYou tend to provide insights and direction by teaching, managing, clarifying, and advising.
