What Is
Life In Fast Forward?
Welcome to the online home of me, some guy given the name John Cleveland Payne. In the grand scheme of life, I am just another guy with another blog. But to myself, and hopefully to all of you who actually read this, I am something a little more special. From a young age, I fell in love of the idea of ‘the message’ and medium in which you try to transmit.

Basically, everyone has a message to give to the world. Some are basic, some complex, some have the power to up lift and some are just out there to bring as many people down as possible. But everyone has a message, and most people have problems identifying their message. And the ones who get that far can seem to figure out how to get the world to listen.

Well, I have a message, and this is where I will get a chance to share it. Hopefully, you’ll get plenty of things to keep you motivated or inspired, provide knowledge and comfort, and just have a little fun. Apologies for the state of flux and state of seemingly confusing messages that you’ll get here for a while, as I am doing a lot of personal soul searching, and scrubbing of old ideas to take the best of the past to build a new beginning.

In 2007, I changed the name of blog from “The Mis-Adventures Of The Jazzy Cool One” to “Life In Fast Forward.” I began to tear down old blogs and newsletters and try to find places for them here. My goal is to take the focus off of me the person, and show the world the life I live and share with every human on the planet. I aspire to life at a very high standard, and instead of dealing with people who rather slow us down, I want to find ways to help people pick up there own pace. As you get to see an insight to the further adventures I hope to lead, hopefully you’ll enjoy the ride, and want to come along.

Coming Soon: Great Posts For Cool Corporate dot COM
Sunday, December 23, 2007
One week after coming to terms with the mourning of the death of my beloved Palm One Life Drive, I spent the morning transcribing 9 months worth of audio notes I had sitting in my Palm desktop software (I am so glad I learned about Jott, or it would have been even more). The loss of my Life Drive forces me to clean out all this old information, so that I have fresh post for the Cool Corporate dot COM blog. But I really didn’t know just how much stuff I was lugging around. (and I still have to clean a few months worth of Jotts)

Here are some of the incomplete thoughts that should turn into some pretty good posts for 2008:

What is the value added? What is the added value? If you get no enjoyment from an action, and get no improvement from that action, why do you continue with those actions?

Let’s say you get a bonus task to complete at work. Let’s say you have the power to decline if you can justify not doing it or just don’t want to do it? Your answer can’t not be “I don’t want to do it.” In most cases, you have to think about the value added. If their is some value added, and you still don’t want to do it, the next step is to find someone more qualified or agreeable to do it. Otherwise, you still have to mull over if the added value is worth the minor pain and suffering (and annoyances) and time tie ups that come with the added task that does provide some value

Great thinkers, great creators, great achievers ask the questions that must be asked. They ask the hard questions that must be dealt with, and do not accept answers they do not like. They take those answers and find a way to make them into the answers they want to hear

When you have no goals, no purpose, you do things as they come along, because you have no plans for things until they come along. When you have goals and a plan and a purpose, you plan things out before they happen, and avoid as many pitfalls as possible from planning ahead.
