What Is
Life In Fast Forward?
Welcome to the online home of me, some guy given the name John Cleveland Payne. In the grand scheme of life, I am just another guy with another blog. But to myself, and hopefully to all of you who actually read this, I am something a little more special. From a young age, I fell in love of the idea of ‘the message’ and medium in which you try to transmit.

Basically, everyone has a message to give to the world. Some are basic, some complex, some have the power to up lift and some are just out there to bring as many people down as possible. But everyone has a message, and most people have problems identifying their message. And the ones who get that far can seem to figure out how to get the world to listen.

Well, I have a message, and this is where I will get a chance to share it. Hopefully, you’ll get plenty of things to keep you motivated or inspired, provide knowledge and comfort, and just have a little fun. Apologies for the state of flux and state of seemingly confusing messages that you’ll get here for a while, as I am doing a lot of personal soul searching, and scrubbing of old ideas to take the best of the past to build a new beginning.

In 2007, I changed the name of blog from “The Mis-Adventures Of The Jazzy Cool One” to “Life In Fast Forward.” I began to tear down old blogs and newsletters and try to find places for them here. My goal is to take the focus off of me the person, and show the world the life I live and share with every human on the planet. I aspire to life at a very high standard, and instead of dealing with people who rather slow us down, I want to find ways to help people pick up there own pace. As you get to see an insight to the further adventures I hope to lead, hopefully you’ll enjoy the ride, and want to come along.

Here comes a rant: I have to admit that I have not been giving my full effort. Its not for lack of trying, or lack of ambition. It's pretty much lack of time and energy.

Prime example, the radio talk show I produce. For the past 5 months I have been trying to perfect ways to get my work done without haveing to work hard at it. I've come up with a flashier website that I realized I didn't have the time to update properly, so it got scraped. I've gone through three different ways to keep the schedule of who we have booked on the show, and by whom. The 'magic' solution I came up was a web based calendar that all my boss has to do is go look at it while he's sitting in his studio on the air before he leaves for the day.

Instead, he just email me guest that I'm supposed to book or that he booked or that he sent out for information but didn't finalize . . . and he doesn't mention send emails unitl a few days later . . . where half the time he actually didn't email anything to me. Then he ask me who's on the calendar for a range of days. I tell him, but I fully expect to be asked the same thing the next day.

And yesterday, after I had reminded him twice the week before that we had a rescheduled phone guest that he halfway scheduled the first time, we ended up with two in-studio guests also showing up for the same time slot, one he swears he told we needed on the air next week, but that has been disputed by two people. If I could just get the man to read the calendar before he sets something up . . .

I thought I could use some creativity im my work to handle all my work. Instead, there has been a crackdown on internet access at the TV job, which was the perfect place for finalizing and sending off newsletters in my mini breaks. The radio job has becoming more technical time consuming on the air where I can no longer do my show booking, let alone update the radio show web page as the show is on the air. And I work 12 hours a day Tuesday through Friday, 8 a day Saturday and Sunday, and 4 hours on Monday, giving me little acually free time to anything, and since my family has to come sometime, the following my dream to small business ownership gets the serious shaft.

Bottomline, no one gets full attention, and everything I do to "work smarter" basically just adds extra work to myself (don't get me started on my frustration with the improvements at the TV station). I am physically tired, emotionally drained, and ironically, financially screwed as teh more I work the less money seems to make it home.

There, I got that out. Now I hope to get some good news out this evening here.
