What Is
Life In Fast Forward?
Welcome to the online home of me, some guy given the name John Cleveland Payne. In the grand scheme of life, I am just another guy with another blog. But to myself, and hopefully to all of you who actually read this, I am something a little more special. From a young age, I fell in love of the idea of ‘the message’ and medium in which you try to transmit.

Basically, everyone has a message to give to the world. Some are basic, some complex, some have the power to up lift and some are just out there to bring as many people down as possible. But everyone has a message, and most people have problems identifying their message. And the ones who get that far can seem to figure out how to get the world to listen.

Well, I have a message, and this is where I will get a chance to share it. Hopefully, you’ll get plenty of things to keep you motivated or inspired, provide knowledge and comfort, and just have a little fun. Apologies for the state of flux and state of seemingly confusing messages that you’ll get here for a while, as I am doing a lot of personal soul searching, and scrubbing of old ideas to take the best of the past to build a new beginning.

In 2007, I changed the name of blog from “The Mis-Adventures Of The Jazzy Cool One” to “Life In Fast Forward.” I began to tear down old blogs and newsletters and try to find places for them here. My goal is to take the focus off of me the person, and show the world the life I live and share with every human on the planet. I aspire to life at a very high standard, and instead of dealing with people who rather slow us down, I want to find ways to help people pick up there own pace. As you get to see an insight to the further adventures I hope to lead, hopefully you’ll enjoy the ride, and want to come along.

J.C.'s Wish List (as of today, at least)

- a clear path to how my life should progress, or at least less obvious distractions
- a big pile of cash, to buy new glasses, a business license, and assorted electronic gizmos and do-dads that make noises and ligth up and are pretty much useless otherwise
- more new responsibilities at work without gaining to much more new work
- less of my old repsonsibilities at work along with getting away from a lot of the old work
- more time to just do things with my family
- things to do with with my family that don't bore me to tears
- a 25-foot jump shot
- more time to read and reflect and plan for the next day

Apparently I agreed to a plan with my wife to eat nothing but salads for dinner for THE ENTIRE SUMMER while our son is away at his grandmother for the summer. I actually love salads, but, I'm not exactly sure how she snuck this by me, and why she would even want to do this. She who will look at the size of a deck of cards or a cassette tape as a gauge for a serving size of meat and ask, "So, where is the rest of it?"

But I was told I was very excited about it when I brought the idea up, and she tells me she was convinced by my passionate argument for it. So with the 'Summer of Salads' getting ready to begin the first week June, I'm asking for your help. Going with the loosely defined salad as not just a bowl of lettuce (although I am a huge fan of the bowl of lettuce) and my wife's tendency to get bored with leftovers before they're even left over, I'm looking for ideas for any kind of salad you can come up with. Pasta salads, tuna salads, chicken salads, and especially salads made up of mostly bowls of lettuce. If you can tag it with the word salad, I'm game.

I don't have much to offer in return, except plenty of mentions in my writings, so if you have a link to recipe or a website, you can get some free pub on this highly trafficked web site and more. Post what you got inthe comments, or email them to john.payne@gmail.com.

Roll with your set! Some drunk dude with ashy hands took the time to work out a gang sign for bloggers.

David Blaine didn't break the world record for holding his breath in last night's overly-hyped, newest waste of time special. He also didn't die trying, as overly advertised.

I know it was network television, but can I get a couple bucks off my cable bill?
